Mirror Wills

Mirror wills are two separate wills for a couple—often married—that have almost identical provisions. For example, the husband's will leaves everything to his wife, and the wife's will leaves everything to her husband. Both wills would then typically name their children as the beneficiaries should both parents pass away. Unlike mutual wills, which are legally binding and irrevocable, mirror wills are not binding, and either partner can change their will at any time without the other's consent, which offers flexibility but less security.
